GIANFRANCO FERRE’ BOUTIQUES, 1987 - 1999

Between 1987 and 1999 the Studio of Caruzzo and Rancati (with Ezio Riva until 1999) has designed the sales points and image of the clothing designer Gianfranco Ferrè both in Italy and abroad bringing to light more than fi fty projects.
From an analysis of this particular group of work the fundamental linesof a design mode that has always tended and tends toward the joining of the necessary functions with a broad conception meant to confer onto every interior the dignity of a real promenade architecturale, maintaining a perceptive tension monumental composure and expressionistic accentuation in forms and volumes.
In every project the spaces was transformed to the end of creating spaces with that have a strong scenographic impact: that translate into stringent and necessary defi nition of the spaces - that doesn’t exclude - quite to the contrary, oblige the invention of surprisingly out - scaled principal components such as the vestibule, the stairs, volumetric “hinges” that, above all, contract and dilate in order to accentuate the depth and perceptual impact of the spaces transformed by light.

This work was conceived and caried out with Ezio Riva.
